Hunger Action Month takes place annually in the month of September. It is a nationwide initiative of the Feeding America network of food banks to educate the public about hunger relief and encourage our community to take action in the fight against hunger.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee has identified at least one way each day of the month of September you can get involved! All actions are intended to raise awareness, food and funds.

Hunger affects more than 1 in 8 Americans – that’s over 49 million people in communities all over the country just like ours. It’s a big problem and each year we are seeing more and more people in need of food assistance.

Hunger Action Month and 30 Ways in 30 Days give us real actions we can take to fight hunger where we live. By joining Second Harvest Food Bank and choosing YOUR WAY, you are taking a stand and saying loudly HUNGER IS NOT OK!

Find your way at www.ThirtyWays.org! The online calendar is filled full of all types of ways you can be involved in Hunger Action Month. We know everyone likes to engage in different and meaningful ways, and we are positive there is something that will suit your style.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee feeds hungry people and works to solve hunger issues in the communities it serves.

The Food Bank, which is part of the Feeding America network, distributes food and other products to approximately 400 community food partner agencies in 46 counties in Middle and West Tennessee.

Partners include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, childcare facilities, senior centers and youth enrichment programs. For more information about how you can get more involved, visit www.secondharvestmidtn.org.
